An Embarrassing Senate Committee Hearing

Yesterday’s Senate Finance Committee and the interview of RFK was an embarrassment for the entire country, but it should have been a humiliating embarrassment for the involved Senators, both those from the Left as well as the right. These committee hearings are to be a fact-finding exercise, where viewpoints are expressed and questions are answered. The committee lost track of this. All Democratic Senators and many Republicans used the forum to highlight their political opinions. Facts were thrown at RFK, many of which he obviously disagreed with. Rarely was a question even posed. RFK was given no opportunity to respond and answer. It was so obvious that these Senators did not want to listen to RFK’s point of view. In addition, they obviously either forgot or never knew the oath they had taken.

The tragedy is that there is an existential threat to healthcare in America. The rapid decline in this has occurred during many of the sitting Senators’ service. Obesity, Diabetes, Cancer, and other conditions are now at an epidemic level. The treatment of infectious disease, while necessary, is not the primary issue.

The use of Vaccines to treat infectious diseases has come to be a one-size-fits-all treatment. In addition, the sacred Doctor-Patient relationship in which the use of informed consent allows the patient to choose to use these powerful, but also risky, therapies is often not considered. Mandates override this critical step in administering health care decisions. In addition, nearly all Vaccines have not been tested properly. Over 50 Vaccines are recommended during childhood. Only one has undergone double-blind, placebo-controlled studies.

Senators, understand the purpose of these hearings. It is not a political forum to grandstand; it must be a give-and-take, in which opposing views are debated. Please address this critical threat to our country.
